Billy Yarborough

Director

Billy Yarborough hails from Columbia, South Carolina. He is the  third child out of four, born to Billy and Mamie Yarborough. He is happily married to Chanee Yarborough, and together, they have six children: Stephen, Chad, Shalisha, Kaliya, Kayla, and Zion.


Mr. Yarborough joined the United States Army on January 6, 1988, and served for more than 20 years. During his time in the army, he worked as a JROTC Army Instructor, Logistic Army Instructor, and Mentor, holding various positions such as Culinarian in Food Service, U.S. Army Drill Sergeant, Food Advisor, Senior Operations Specialist, Dining Facility Manager, and a Distinguished Member of the 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) at Ft. Myer, VA.


He has vast professional work experience where he has successfully administered, counseled, and assisted over 10,000 Soldiers, Department of Defense (DoD) Civilians, and their family members through critical life experiences. As a Drill Sergeant, he has trained Initial Entry Training (IET) Soldiers, utilizing the Training and Doctrine Commands (TRADOC) most current and required training techniques.


Mr. Yarborough has the following credentials. As a Drill Sergeant and JROTC Army Instructor, Mr. Yarborough successfully performed all assigned duties. As a Drill Sergeant, he was responsible for various technical, analytical, advisory, liaison, and coordinating tasks for Advanced Individual Training (AIT) soldiers. As a JROTC Army Instructor, he created an annual operational plan, including weekly scheduling of school activities and JROTC logistics operations. He promptly prepared, presented, coordinated, and uploaded reports to higher echelons and instructed the drill team and color guard coach. Mr. Yarborough also administered approximately 28 tasks and the STARR State Test, participated in around 36 community service activities, supported local and state school and community events, and attended local American Legion and other veteran service organization ceremonies.


Mr. Yarborough holds an associate degree in General Studies from Central Texas College and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Counseling from Higher Learning Bible Institute College.
